Bridge construction and rehabilitation is our core business at Halverson Construction Co., Inc. After nearly three decades in this industry, we have become one of the Midwest's leaders in bridge construction and rehabilitation for highway, railroad and major river bridges.

Replacement of the Norfolk & Southern Railway bridge over the Wabash River. Modification of existing substructure; temporary false work for new construction; rolling out of the existing truss bridge; roll-in the new superstructure; controlled demolition.
Halverson used an extensive false work system to roll out the old three span structure, and roll in the new four span structure. The roll-out/roll-in method was accomplished using hydraulic cylinders designed by Halverson to synchronize the pull of the different spans. The roll-out/roll-in was completed several hours ahead of schedule to facilitate rail traffic.

Construction of a bridge carrying the Union Pacific Railroad over a ½ mile extension of Meredith Drive in the Village of Sherman, Illinois. The project requires construction of a ½ mile shoofly track around the construction zone; improvements to Business Loop I-55; extension of Meredith Drive; approximately 100 tons of structural steel; 100 tons of reinforcing steel; and all associated track and ballast related construction.
