The project included: construction of four new river piers with caisson shafts to bedrock; over 1,200 cubic yards of new substructure concrete; 1,850 cubic yards of bridge deck concrete; approximately 750,000 pounds of reinforcing steel; and over 5.6 million pounds of new structural steel. Rehabilitation of the 34-span, 3,600 foot long Cedar Street Bridge carrying Illinois Route 29 &116 over the Illinois River, at Peoria, Illinois. The project consisted of: structural steel repairs to the truss & girder spans of the bridge; pin replacements over the river span; substructure repairs; removal and replacement of bridge expansion joints; and rivet removal & replacement. Subcontractor to Eagle Painting & Maintenance Co.
The project consisted of: removal and replacement of the existing lift span floor system; new bridge grating; painting and cleaning of existing lift span; rehab of bridge tender house; new tender house access; structural steel repairs; joint rehabilitation; and shotcrete pier repairs. Used the specialized overhead crane system to replace floor system in 1-1/2 months; used a specially designed water tank ballast system for temporary counterweight support; coordinated with painting contractor to complete project 15 days ahead of schedule.
