Henry, Illinois | Illinois Route 18

Removal and replacement of the existing concrete deck; structural steel, substructure repairs, bearing replacement, cleaning and painting of structural steel; approach work, guardrail and electrical work.

Using the specialized overhead crane system, Halverson developed an innovative jacking and cribbing plan, and executed a thorough work plan, allowing the project to be completed 150 days ahead of schedule — earning Halverson the largest incentive payment ever made by IDOT.

Lacon, Illinois | Illinois Route 17

Removal and replacement of the existing concrete deck, structural steel below the deck; substructure repairs; bridge lighting; bearing replacement; cleaning & painting of structural steel; approach work and guardrail.

Halverson worked closely with the local Chamber of Commerce to keep the local merchants informed on the progress of the project. Using the overhead crane system, the project continued through periods of high water. This allowed Halverson to complete this project thirty days ahead of schedule. Marseilles Phase I & Phase II | FAS 268

Phase I: Construction of a nine span steel plate girder bridge, lighting, approach pavement. Halverson submitted forming and striping plans to coordinate clearance, and minimize impact to river traffic.

Phase II. Removal of existing steel truss bridge and erosion control. Coordination with Coast Guard & Lockmaster to shut down barge traffic during bridge removal.

Peoria, Illinois | McCluggage Bridge

Rehabilitation of the Eastbound McCluggage Bridge over the Illinois River in Peoria & East Peoria, Illinois. Substructure repair, structural steel repair, roadway & navigational lighting, new concrete deck, painting and cleaning of structural steel, and joint repair.

Halverson planned weekly jobsite personnel partnering meetings, discussing schedule, upcoming work items, issues requiring immediate resolution. CPM scheduling programs used, for quick updating and electronic transmission among partnering participants. Overhead crane system used to facilitate deck removal and replacement. Peru, Illinois | Illinois Route 251

Removal and replacement of the existing concrete deck, structural steel below the deck, concrete substructure repairs. Additional work included bearing repairs, cleaning & painting of structural steel and approach work.

Halverson used an innovative method to support the suspended truss section while the pin and links were reworked and replaced. This allowed the use of the overhead crane system to continue to run throughout the truss while this work was being done. These methods allowed the project to be completed 30 days ahead of schedule.
